Soccer Shots, Summer Camp - Mini Camp: Age 2 SOCCER SHOTS SUMMER CAmp – Soccer, Sun, And FunSoccer Shots Summer Camp will provide children with an opportunity to develop their soccer skills, character and creativity. In addition to lots of soccer, we will have a variety of age-appropriate learning, including crafts, team building exercises and snack time. We might even have a soccer story time! Soccer, Youth - U5: Jr. Soccer, Age 4 & 5 - S3 (Not in K) Farmington Recreation's 2026 Fall Soccer Program is now slated to begin on Saturday, September 12 and conclude on November 7 (weather permitting).Our program is for Farmington residents only. If the program is listed as full or 0 seat(s) available, please register for the wait list as we analyze our registration numbers daily.Jr. SOCCER, Age 4 & 5 (Not in Kindergarten as of Fall 2026)Farmington Recreation's Jr. Soccer Program (U5) is an introduction to the game of soccer provided by Soccer Shots. Clinic-like sessions will focus on the development of basic skills (dribbling, shooting, etc.) and the team concept. Farmington Recreation's instructional program, provided by Soccer Shots, places players in an environment that will focus on individual skills, fitness, and sportsmanship all the while providing an opportunity for participants to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Reassurance and care from Soccer Shots coaches allows every player to gain a better understanding of the game of soccer.*Participants will be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner.**Players will be provided with a Farmington Recreation Soccer Jersey and Professional Coaching.***Players will need a size 3 soccer ball and cleats/shin-guards are suggested.RECREATION SOCCER (Kindergarten - 8th Grade as of Fall 2026)(Grandfathered non-residents: Email recreation@farmington-ct.org to Register; a $25.00 Surcharge Shall Apply)Recreation soccer (U6 - U14) practices, approximately one hour in length, will be held once per week (Monday - Friday) at various times and locations. Considering our coaches are volunteers and select their practice schedules based on their availability and our field availability. *Specific requests for practice days and times will not be accepted.Recreation soccer (U6 - U14) games, approximately one hour in length, will generally be scheduled on Saturdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sunday games may be scheduled when necessary. *Please note that this is a time range where games may be scheduled.Recreation teams will be created based on several factors including but not limited to the player's home address and the number of registrations received. Players will be notified of their team assignments approximately one-two weeks prior to the start of the season. The season is set to start with game play on September 12; coaches will be notified when fields are open for practice.*Specific requests for team placement will not be accepted.VOLUNTEER COACHES:This program, like all recreational sports leagues, relies on volunteer coaches to lead one practice and one game per week. Recreation staff collaborate with volunteers to identify a practice time that fits within their availability. Because coaches generously donate their time, they have the flexibility to select their preferred practice schedule.We encourage parents and guardians to consider volunteering to help provide a fun and engaging experience for our youth participants. If there is a shortage of coaches, teams will still be formed; however, some teams may begin the season without a designated coach. In these cases, the start of practices may be delayed until a parent or guardian volunteers to take on the role. Conversely, if there are more volunteers than needed, coaching assignments will be determined based on each individual’s status with the Farmington Recreation Department.As a token of appreciation for their time and commitment, volunteer head coaches are eligible to receive a 30% credit of the program registration fee at the conclusion of the season. To qualify, head coaches must complete all required vetting procedures, including a successful background screening, and remain in good standing with the Farmington Recreation Department.A volunteer head coach is considered in good standing when all required background screenings and applicable certifications have been completed and when they consistently adhere to the coaches’ code of conduct. The Department reserves the right to determine good standing at its sole discretion based on years of service, compliance, conduct, and fulfillment of coaching responsibilities.*If you are interested in volunteering as a Rec.
