Farmington Recreation's 2026 Farmington Valley Field Hockey Program us slated to begin on Sunday, September 13 and conclude on October 25 (weather permitting).
The Farmington Valley Field Hockey League is comprised of teams from Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby, Harwinton, Simsbury, and Wethersfield. The program includes one practice and one game per week. This is a recreational league that requires travel to away games.
Each player is responsible for their own field hockey stick, cleats, mouth guard, shin guards, and eye protection (optional). A reversible game jersey will be provided.
Recreation Field Hockey games will be played at 2:30 PM at either Farmington High School or Irving Robbins Middle School and will be played in two 30-minute halves on half of the field, sideline to sideline, 8 v 8 with no goalies. Cones are used for goals. The practice schedule is TBD and will be determined by our volunteer(s).
