MPower Youth Sports is dedicated to spreading a lifelong love of running and fitness to boys and girls. Whether it's for the love of running, to improve endurance or speed for another sport, or just to try something new, our goal is to build confidence, celebrate personal bests, and HAVE FUN!
Youth Running/Cross Country Program
Finishing a 5K is an incredible milestone at any age. Picture the pride your son will feel as he strides across the finish line of his goal race! The MPower Boys Youth Running/Cross Country program is designed to help him achieve exactly that.
Inspired by popular Couch-to-5K training models, this program welcomes boys of all running backgrounds, from brand-new beginners to seasoned young athletes. Throughout the season, we’ll focus on proper running form, smart pacing, and progressive endurance building. Each session blends running drills, fun games, and core-strength activities to keep training engaging while promoting overall fitness.
By the end of the program, your son will be well-prepared, confident, and ready to take on his 5K challenge.
Youth Track & Field Program (Coed)
Discover the excitement of Track & Field in this fun, skill-building introductory program! Perfect for both first-time participants and experienced young athletes, this program offers a dynamic overview of a wide range of events. Athletes will have the chance to try sprints, hurdles, relays, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin, and discus.
Throughout the season, we’ll emphasize proper form, safe technique, and steady skill development, all while keeping the experience energetic and fun. Whether your child wants to explore a new sport or sharpen existing abilities, this program provides a supportive environment to learn, grow, and enjoy the world of Track & Field.
Youth Speed Training Program
Unlock your athletic potential with MPower’s Speed Training Program, led by Gino Caro, a professional speed coach with experience training youth, high school, NCAA, and NFL athletes.
This program focuses on proper technique and education to help participants build:
- Confidence
- Physical fitness
- Explosive speed and agility
Our goal is to uncover, nurture, and refine each athlete’s skills and limitless potential. Whether you’re an experienced competitor or just starting out, this program will help you reach the next level in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Policies & General Information
MPower Boys Running (Cross Country)
- Finishing a 5K is an impressive achievement at any age. Imagine the sense of accomplishment and pride your son will feel when he crosses the finish line of the Celebrate! West Hartford FunD Runs on Sunday, June 7!
- MPower Boys Running will prepare him to do just that. Modeled after popular Couch-to-5K plans, MPower’s training program is designed for all levels of runners: from very beginners to experienced racers. We will concentrate on proper form and pacing while we build endurance over the weeks through a combination of running drills, games and core strength exercises.
- Race registration is not included in the program fee and is not required to participate in this great program!
- Rain Location: Irving Robbins Middle School Gymnasium (N/A: 4/23 and 5/21)

Track & Field (Coed)
- This exciting program for both boys and girls is designed to be a fun and informative introduction to the sport of Track & Field. It is appropriate for both new and seasoned athletes.
- Events include sprints, hurdles, relays, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin and discus. We'll focus on form, technique, safety and importantly FUN!
- No Practice on Sunday, May 24.
- The program will conclude with a Track & Field meet at the Farmington High School Track on Saturday, June 6 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Date/Time are Subject to Change).
