Our Jukido, Youth Self-Defense Program is a structured youth martial arts program that introduces children to the fundamentals of self-defense in a safe, supportive, and age-appropriate environment. Drawing from the traditional Japanese disciplines of jujutsu, judo, and aikido, Jukido focuses on balance, coordination, and controlled movement rather than physical strength.
This program is designed to help children build confidence, self-discipline, and personal safety awareness while learning practical skills they can apply in everyday situations.
Program Objectives
- Personal Safety & Self-Defense: Children learn basic self-defense techniques and situational awareness skills appropriate for real-world scenarios.
- Anti-Bullying Skills: Classes incorporate strategies that promote confidence, respect, and non-violent responses to bullying, helping children develop healthy boundaries and communication skills.
- Skill Development Over Strength: Jukido teaches children how to rely on technique, balance, and coordination, making the program accessible to all ability levels.
- Well-Rounded Physical Activity: Training includes introductory striking, throwing, grappling, joint control, and pinning techniques, taught with a strong emphasis on safety and control.
