Farmington Recreation in collaboration with the Hartford Havoc Field Hockey Club presents Farmington Recreation Youth Field Hockey.
Hartford Havoc's mission is to bring high level field hockey skills and knowledge to all athletes through age-appropriate game play and drills. They aim to create a fun and nurturing environment that encourages athletes to be risk takers and grow through challenging drills coupled with effective decision making. The Hartford Havoc emphasize competitiveness, resilience, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Youth Clinics, Grades K - 4
Clinics at this age focus on introducing and developing basic field hockey skills using fun drills and small sided games. It is a great opportunity for girls this age to see what field hockey is all about. Emphasis will be placed on skill development and basic team play. (Dribbling, passing and possession skills).
Youth Clinics, Grades 5 & 6
Clinics at this age continue to reinforce and build upon the basic field hockey skills introduced at the beginner level. Players are encouraged to hone their individual play and begin incorporating more offensive and defensive skills, shooting drills and scrimmages to work on field positioning and passing lanes. Goalkeeper training will also be introduced at this level for players who are interested.

- Field Hockey Stick
- Sneakers or Turf Shoes
- Shin Guards
- Mouth Guard
- Water Bottle
*Goalkeeping equipment will be provided if a player is interested in trying the position.
