Steven Shelley is an Associate PGA Member with a fascinating history. Like many golfers before him, his passion for the game of golf began as a 10-year-old caddy at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT, and as he grew, so did his love for the game. After graduating high school, Steve joined the US Navy’s Submarine Service where his service took him around the globe. Even in far off locales, Steve’s golf clubs were by his side playing in Italy, Greece, Cypress, Bahrain, Spain, and the Canary Islands. After a prestigious 20-year career Steve retired from the Navy and took a position as an Engineer building and testing navigation and weapons systems at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT. Despite this career path, Steve’s true passion was always the game of golf. In 2021, Steve dedicated himself to becoming an expert in the game establishing himself as an Associate PGA member, with his sights on Class “A” PGA Membership.
With a “keep it simple” philosophy, Steve is committed to helping others improve and enjoy the game, and his goal is to share his passion and enthusiasm for the game with our membership and their guests. Steve brings a wealth of additional knowledge from his prior experience working at several fine clubs including the Golf Club of Avon, Tallwood Country Club and The Golf Club at Mohegan Sun.
Steve graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and currently resides in Bristol with his wife and two children. Outside of the game Steve enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, archery, and watching PSU Nittany Lions football.
