Our Badminton Open Play program is designed for adults and youth ages 14+ and is held in the Irving A. Robbins Middle School gymnasium. We have four courts for rotational play.*A PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT WITH YOUTH AGES 14-17 FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROGRAM*Monthly registration is required!Monthly fee is based on the number dates scheduled per session.*Registration is first come, first served. American Mah Jongg: A game of Chinese origin, usually played by four people, in which tiles bearing various designs are drawn and discarded until one player has an entire hand of winning combinationsChess: A board game of strategic skill for two players, played on a checkered board. Each player begins the game with sixteen pieces that are moved and used to capture opposing pieces according to precise rules. The object is to put the opponent's king under a direct attack from which escape is impossible (checkmate).Rummikub: A tile-based game for 2 to 4 players, combining elements of the card game rummy and mah jongg.Scrabble: A word game in which two to four players score points by placing tiles, each bearing a single letter, onto a game board divided into a 15×15 grid of squares. The tiles must form words that, in crossword fashion, read left to right in rows or downward in columns, and be included in a standard dictionary.

Bridge: a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. In its basic format, it is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Meets every Tuesday from from 1:00-3:00pm & Fridays from 12:30-3:00pmCribbage: a card game for two to four players, in which the objective is to play so that the value of one's cards played reaches exactly 15 or 31.  Instruction available. Bridge: a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. In its basic format, it is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Farmington Recreation's 2025 - 2026 Recreation Basketball Program for youth residing in Farmington (or attend a Farmington Public School), in grades kindergarten through 8, is slated to begin game play on Saturday, December 6 and conclude on February 7 with no games expected on December 27 and January 3. Make up dates for games cancelled due to weather will be held on February 21 and 28. All program dates and information are subject to change based on facility availability.Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the program is listed as full or 0 seat(s) available, please register for the wait list as we analyze our registration numbers daily. All players, Recreation and Travel, are required to register below. Once Travel Basketball players have been determined via the tryout process, roster spots for the Recreation Program will be filled via the wait list, if necessary.RECREATION BASKETBALL VOLUNTEER COACHES:This program, like all recreational sports leagues, relies on volunteer coaches to facilitate one practice and one game per week. Recreation Staff collaborate with volunteers to find a practice slot that works within their schedule. 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM    Board Games - Scrabble
American Mah Jongg: A game of Chinese origin, usually played by four people, in which tiles bearing various designs are drawn and discarded until one player has an entire hand of winning combinationsChess: A board game of strategic skill for two players, played on a checkered board. Each player begins the game with sixteen pieces that are moved and used to capture opposing pieces according to precise rules. The object is to put the opponent's king under a direct attack from which escape is impossible (checkmate).Rummikub: A tile-based game for 2 to 4 players, combining elements of the card game rummy and mah jongg.Scrabble: A word game in which two to four players score points by placing tiles, each bearing a single letter, onto a game board divided into a 15×15 grid of squares. The tiles must form words that, in crossword fashion, read left to right in rows or downward in columns, and be included in a standard dictionary.

Experience the fastest racket sport in the world and train with former USA National Team member, Nick Vered who holds a Level 2 High Performance Coach's Certification and has produced multiple Junior National and Junior Pan American Champions. In this course participants will learn the basics and fundamentals of badminton, strategies, game play and advanced technical skills, all while exhibiting court etiquette and sportsmanship. Come join a fun, friendly, and competitive program that accepts all levels from Beginners to Advanced.*Please use the gymnasium entrance accessible from the tennis court parking areaPolicies & General Information

Bridge: a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. In its basic format, it is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Meets every Tuesday from from 1:00-3:00pm & Fridays from 12:30-3:00pmCribbage: a card game for two to four players, in which the objective is to play so that the value of one's cards played reaches exactly 15 or 31.  Instruction available. All levels welcome! Meets every Tuesday from 9:30-12:00pm

Our Olympic Fencing Club is for both non-competitive and competitive participants with basic fencing skills that will train, with a desire to compete, in the Olympic Sport of Fencing taught by Fencing Master, Marc Ganych.Marc, who has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Exercise, studied Olympic Foil Fencing from 1979 to 1987. Marc is the 1984 Gold Medalist of the "First Junior Games" as well as the 1985 Bronze Medalist of the National Tournament "Blades of Ala-Tau".
